Everything that makes you feel good is illegal in the United States.

To Evil... well, the US was put together by Protestants who hated the body, what do you expect. As I read in the window of a bible shop yesterday, all benefits in life to an obedient believer are from the the Lord, and all those benefits which a disobedient disbeliever gets in life are bestowed by The Disobedient One. I assume that means satan. yup. So there ya go. Sleep with your hands above the covers, do not fully undress when bathing, do not take delight in food and drink, nor dance. Hmm how would you be drinking it if it is illegal in the States? As far as I know there are not big drug rings for absinthe... there are some that are CALLED absinthe that have no wormwood in them (mostly anise and green dye). Strange to drink it "straight shots"... it is usually over ice, or more often with water poured into it over a sugar cube to get that famous cloudiness. Anyways, lots of interesting online sites about it. tah!

http://www.feeverte.net/ is the place you want to visit. Apparently, it's only really illegal to SELL absinthe in the US. But you can have it at your doorstep, legally, in a matter of weeks :)

Ah, misread your diary... I thought it said you need to get you some right away (which I interpreted as you were slugging it back yourself and found it to die for)... no sugar cubes?? Personally at one point I was looking it up on the net, thinking to buy the herb ingredient package which you soak yourself in vodka or somesuch. Like many things, I am seduced by the process... I like the idea of the silver slotted spoon, the sugar cube, the drizzling the water through the sugar to watch it cloud over. hehe. The other thing is poppy tea la Harper's magazine....
